Hunting Season 2008

Look at these MONSTERS!!!!

Heath was so excited when he told me I had drawn on this elk hunt in early October. Let's just say I was less than thrilled. My first experience with hunting was horrible and I told Heath I was never hunting again...see how he listens to me?? Anyway, this was opening day. This hunt was the hardest thing I have ever done but look what I have to show for it!! Now it is just a matter of finding a place in my house to hang it!!

Heath got this 5x5 deer on opening day. Heath says he's a little narrow but the cheaters sealed the deal and now this deer is in the garage also waiting for a place on the wall.

We have had a successful hunt so far...Heath still has a bull elk hunt starting the first week of November...Good luck!!!

Bear Lake -August 2008

These are two of our pictures when we went on our vacation this summer to Bear Lake. We stayed in a cabin with our friends Jesse and Jen and Nick and Tami. We had a blast. This was the first trip we had done with friends and it was great. We went boating, golfing, (I am a horrible golfer!) ate way too much and just had a great time. The three families have become much better friends because of the trip. It was great!
The guys built a sand turtle and the little boys had to help. Here is Carson being the water baby he is...he loved the water and the sand...he ate that too! (He eats everything!!)
Here the stitches...he was trying to keep up with Cooper and hit the same corner on the coffee table that gave Cooper 4 stitches in his eyebrow!
Cooper wanted to shoot the 22 when we went target practicing in preparation for my big bull elk tag in October. He shot it once and decided that was enough. He is going to be a big hunter just like his dad. He already went antelope hunting with Heath in Wyoming and loved it. That is all he talks about. Apparently at school he has been telling everyone about the "hunts" he is going on and has showed everyone how to turn their pencils and crayons into guns. (his teacher had a chat with me and then I had one with Cooper-guns at school are bad!!)

A quick look at the past

Here are my two boys, handsome huh?
They love to wrestle and even though Carson is 3 years
younger he gives Coop a run for his money!
These two are becoming quite the little buddies. It is fun to watch their relationship change on a daily basis. They may be total opposites but they look just like each other!
Here is Cooper in his first season of T-ball. He was a little confused at first. He would hit the ball and then promptly run after the ball instead of first base. Our boy certainly goes at his own speed to the bases; usually slow enough that he never gets past first!
He was on a league with two of his buddies, Ethan and Wade. It sometimes was a scene from the Three Stooges, all comedy, not sure how to play the game, they just knew how to have fun!
This is a picture of all my boys at Travis and
Brooke's wedding this past May...boy are they handsome in their tuxes!! Heath was the best man and Cooper was the ring bearer. They both did a great job, but you know Cooper...had to bring drama into it all. He pouted because he didn't want to be dressed up, and once he walked down the aisle and handed dad the ring he was MIA...went to play out in the front yard. That's Coop for you again...doing what he wants when he wants, who cares what mom and dad say!! We love you Coop!

And then there is Carson who was born in April of 2007. This is him last November. He just couldn't wait any longer. I was working downstairs and realized it was just too quiet. I was afraid he was eating the potting soil again but this is what I found...my little man!

He has been such a great addition to the family. He is the total opposite of Cooper; he has no fear. Even though he has already had stitches (3 in his lip) he climbs everything (at least he tries) and is into everything. Sometimes he gets stuck, usually just his head because it's pretty big, but that never stops him. He will get what he wants one way or another! He is such a sweetheart and we love him!

Fine...I give in!!

Alright, alright! I give in to all you other women who have one. I did it! I am a proud blogger!

This will be fun so long as I keep it interesting and short!

Here we are...The Mitchell's: Heath, Heather, Cooper, and Carson

We are having a great time just being us, trying to keep up with the pace of life. Both Heath and I working, Cooper in Pre-school, and Carson, in to everything and thinking about walking. We couldn't ask for anything more.
I love my life and my family!
